When this chakra is in balance, we are able to feel love for ourselves and for others. We will also be able to see through the ugliness of some human behaviour and have the capacity to feel love and compassion towards them. When the Heart Chakra is overactive, we lose our boundaries and begin to have an unhealthy devotion towards the ones we love. There will also be a tendency to put the needs of others above our own.

If the Heart Chakra is underactive, we will have the tendency to build walls around us and shut out everyone around us. This translates to interpersonal relationship issues. Some potential health issues that are associated with and unbalanced Heart Chakra are heart palpitations, circulation problems and heartburn.

 Crystals are often used in crystal healing therapies to help balance the chakras.

 The color that represents the Heart Chakra is green. Some effective Heart Chakra crystals are Amazonite, Green Apatite, Aquamarine, Green Aventurine, Diopside and Rose Quartz.
